Associate Professor Juliana Dushanova, PhD, is an academic neuroscientist in Department of Sensory Neurobiology and Department of Cognitive Psychophysiology, Institute of Neurobiology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS). Her work covers almost the full spectrum of diagnostic electrophysiological assessment of brain mechanisms of visual, auditory and cognitive processes, and neuropathology in patients with neurological disorders in development and aging. Her works span not only human, but and non-human primate studies. She received her MS degree from Sofia University, Bulgaria, Predoctoral fellow by Prof. Pfurtscheller at Department of Medical Informatics, Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Medical Informatics and Neuroinformatics, Technical University Graz, Austria, PhD from Institute of Neurobiology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and Postdoctoral Research Fellow in neuroscience by Prof. J.P. Donoghue in the Neuroscience Department of Brown University, RI, USA. Assoc. Prof. J. Dushanova’s research is in the field of movement disorders and she has been involved in electroencephalography research and practice since 1994. She is editor of two books in the field of Parkinson disease, editorial board member of numerous journals of Science Publishing Group, International Journal of Neurology Research, Neural Regeneration Research; Reviewer in Science Research: Science Publishing Group, Health, Proceeding of the Royal Society B, Journal of Psychophysiology. She is a member of the Bulgarian Society of Physiological Sciences, Society of EEG, EMG and clinical Neurophysiology, Society of Biomedical Physics and Engineering, Society of Applied Mathematics, Society of Neuroscience, Washington, DC (2001– 2007). She is a faculty member and a member of the scientific council in Institute of Neurobiology, graduate student advisor in the Department of Cognitive Psychophysiology, and a member of Committee for PhD degree in Department of Sensory Neurobiology, INB, BAS.
