Kentaro Kai was born in Oita. After graduating from Oita University’s Faculty of Medicine (MD), he began his medical practice as a junior resident at Oita University Hospital. Upon completion of the resident program, he majored in Obstetrics and Gynecology and gained certification as a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology and as a General Clinical Oncologist. He is presently working as a Research Associate in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Oita University Faculty of Medicine.

Regarding Kai’s research, he received his PhD from Oita University in 2014. He is an Editorial board member of an international journal, and his research interests include endometriosis, reproductive biology, and gynecologic oncology.

Kentaro Kai was the first Clinical Education Supervisor of the Oita University Faculty of Medicine’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2015, he became a founding board member of the Japanese Network of Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynecology (JTOG).
