I am Dr.Durairaj Sekar Ph.D born in 1980, Tamilnadu, India and grew up at Puducherry, India. I have earned bachelor degree in agriculture from Tamilnadu Agricultural University and master degree from Madurai Kamaraj University, after my post graduation I have dedicated myself to teach undergraduate student of biotechnology and microbiology. I was selectedreceived doctoral degree in the year 2011 from university of Camerino, Italy after that; I was worked as a post doctoral Researcher from International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnolgy (ICGEB), Cape Town, South Africa since 2011. At various times in my life lived in Italy and South Africa. Now currently working as a research scientist in Bio-scientific Company, Puducherry, India.

Dr. Elena Lópezacquired an international patent (proteomics and clinical diagnoses) at CSIC (ConsejoSuperior de Investigaciones
Científicas) during her Master’s Thesis. Subsequently, she got doctor’s degree at UCM (Universidad Complutensede Madrid, Pharmacy)
in collaboration with the Odense University of Denmark (Ph.D. Marie Curie) applying proteomics for microbiology and immunology
studies. Also, she got a postdocEU for proteomic clinical and cancer research at Odense University of Denmark.
In addition, she was responsible for PhosphoproteomicCore at the CNIO (Centro Nacionalde InvestigacionesOncológicas) proteomic unit.
Later, she obtained a postdocMICINN (Ministeriode Cienciae Innovación) for proteomic clinical and cancer research
at the Hospital Universitario12 de Octubreand collaborated with several Research Centres(Wenzhou and Shanghai) via international
stays for transfer knowledge. Currently, she is a Researcher ISCIII (SNS Spanish Health System) at the Hospital UniversitarioNiño Jesús
(responsible for Clinical Proteomics Research and collaborating in several projects).
During her education and experience, she published more than 30 international scientific articles
(12 as first author in peer review journals) and 3 chapter books, and she is, currently, editorial international member of the Board
of several Journals, such as the Clinical and Translational Medicine Journal, and Journal of Molecular and Cellular Therapies.

Dr. Hao Yu received his D.D.S. degree from Fujian Medical University, China. Meanwhile, Dr. Yu obtained Ph.D degree from Wuhan University, China and Dr.Med.Dent degree from University of Zurich, Switzerland. He is currently appointed Deputy Director of Laboratory for Dental Research at Fujian Medical University (FMU) and Attending Dentist at School and Hospital of Stomatology, FMU, China. 
Dr. Yu is the author or co-author of over 50 published articles, chapters and abstracts in a broad spectrum of scientific journal. He served as Board Member of Chinese Dental Material Society; Board Member of Fujian Prosthodontic Society, China; Senior Member of European Organisation of Caries Research (ORCA). Dr. Yu served as an Editorial Member of World Journal of Stomatology since 2012. He is currently involved in studies on tooth bleaching, dental erosion and dental materials.

Honami Naora received her Ph.D. degree from the Australian National University in Canberra. She performed postdoctoral studies at the Pasteur Institute in Paris and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. In 2002, she joined the faculty at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where she is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Oncology. Research in her laboratory is directed to understanding how aberrations in pathways that control developmental patterning drive the histogenesis and clinical behavior of cancers. Her laboratory primarily studies the mechanisms of patterning genes in cancers of the ovary as a dynamic organ system to investigate how tumorigenesis is intimately related to development. In particular, her research focuses on investigating how transcription factors encoded by homeobox genes control the evolution of different subtypes of tumors, modulate tumor-stroma interactions, and interact with different signaling pathways in tumors.

With training and background in both medicine (M.D.) and biology (Ph.D.), I have over 20 years of extensive experience in clinical medicine, biomedical research, and drug discovery. I was trained at China Medical University as a hematologist and McGill University, Canada as a cell and molecular biologist. This was followed by 3 years of postdoctoral research training at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia where I focused on drug discovery and development that targeted graft-versus-host disease, one of the clinical diseases that can be caused by stem cell transplantation. Working together with my colleagues and collaborators, I contributed to the biological and preclinical studies of a novel CD4 inhibitor and its advancement into a current Phase II human clinical trial for preventing graft-versus-host disease in patients who undergo bone marrow transplantation. Recently, my laboratory conducted independent and collaborative research in the development and characterization of several new molecular agents targeting SDF-1a/CXCR4, Wnt/ß-catenin and BMP/Smad signaling involved in stem cell migration, growth and differentiation. Many of our small-molecule inhibitors have already been employed in a number of successful drug-development projects.

I was born in Barcelona (Spain) in 1977. I obtained my BSc degree at the University of Barcelona (Spain) in 2002. Five years after I obtained my PhD degree at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain). In 2008 I was accepted into Clinical Cardiovascular Genetics Center, University of Montreal, Montreal (Canada), as a post-doc fellow in cardiovascular genetics program. After that, I moved to Girona (Spain) joining a post-doc position at Cardiovascular Genetics Center and an associate teacher position at Medical School (University of Girona). In order to improve my knowledge in sudden death pathologies, in 2010 I spend 6 months at Hôpital Robert Debré, Paris (France), and in 2013 at Istituto Medicina Legale e delle Assicurazioni, Facoltà di Medicina e Chirurgia, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome (Italy). The Cardiovascular Genetics Center is a laboratory dedicated to research in Sudden Cardiac Death, merging basic science with clinical medicine.

Dr. Harrigan, a graduate from Xavier College received her Masters in Nursing, Credentials as a Nurse Practitioner, and her Doctor of Education at Indiana University.  She was a professor at the Indiana University School of Nursing and adjunct professor of Pediatrics, Indiana University School of Medicine.  She then became Niehoff Chair & Professor, Niehoff School of Nursing, Loyola University of Chicago.  In 1992, she came to Hawaii from Chicago to the position as Dean of the School of Nursing.  In 2002 Dr. Harrigan joined the School of Medicine as the Chair of the Department of Complementary and Alternative Medicine.  

Currently, her interests include cross-cultural care.  She has published papers on health disparities among different ethnic groups, and about difference in perceptions of health care among mothers in Asian countries, Hong Kong, and the U.S.  She has also studied barriers to health care among Native Hawaiians and Samoans.    

As the Chair of Complementary and Alternative Medicine, University of Hawaii School of Medicine, she brings her strong research background together with a desire to serve the community.  She brings a fresh look into the field of Medicine by blending many disciplines into providing the best care possible for a rapidly changing world.

Over the past several years, my research is focused towards understanding the host immunological determinants that are responsible for the progression of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) infection to active TB disease versus control of infection and establishment of latency. I am also exploring the possibilities of adjunctive immune modulation as an intervention to improve current TB treatment with antibiotics. For these studies, I have been using our well established rabbit models of pulmonary Mtb infection, in which the outcome following infection is dependent on the nature of Mtb strain used for infection. Using cutting edge molecular technologies, such as microarray and bioinformatics approaches, I have identified several gene networks and pathways that are significantly differentially regulated in the rabbit lungs, that can be responsible for the differential outcome following pulmonary infection by Mtb strains HN878 (active TB) and CDC1551 (latency). We are the first to report the molecular determinants of protective (latent TB) versus permissive (active TB) host response to Mtb infection in rabbit lungs as early as 3 hours post infection. In the rabbit model of active TB, we have shown a significant improvement in bacterial clearance and lung pathology when the animals were treated with a combination of anti-TB drugs and small molecule inhibitors of phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4i), compared to treatment with antibiotics alone. For more than 15 years, I have been working with pathogenic mycobacterial strains in Biosafety Level-3 facilities and with several small animal models of TB, including mice, guinea pigs and rabbits, for more than 7 years. I have been working extensively with various primary cells and immortal cell-lines of rabbit, murine, fish and human origin.

Born in 1977, Timo Stübig went to study to then study at the Medical School Hannover (Germany), finishing in 2005. 
His first research objectives were intraoperative 3D imaging, he finished his doctoral thesis in the year of 2006. In 2006, he began his residency in the Trauma department of the Hannover Medical School, which is still his current work location. In his residency, he specialized in Emergency trauma and medicine as well as computer assisted trauma techniques and medical robotics. 
His major research interest includes 3D imaging, computer navigated procedure, traffic and injury prevention and medical robotics. Up to date, he is the author of there more than 30 Medline listed articles and book chapters.

After complete the Clinical fellowship training in advanced therapeutic endoscopy(ERCP) and Endosonography at Interdisciplinary endoscopic unit, University of Hamburg-Eppendorf, Hamburg  Germany  in 2008, I had been working on advanced therapeutic endoscopy at Siriraj GI Endoscopy center, Siriraj hospital, Mahidol university. I had published some case reports, case series and articles regarded; gastrointestinal bleeding, colon cancer screening, endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) in both diagnosis and therapeutic procedures,  endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) which also included cholangioscopy / pancreatoscopy and single  balloon assisted enteroscopy.  I currently work on all the treatments and procedures mentioned above.  My personal interest are 'the development of  new techniques and accessories to aid the treatments in advanced therapeutic procedures'; such as a self-made Teflon catheters for graded dilatation used in EUS guided biliary drainage

Vincenza Conteduca graduated from the University of Bari,and received her title of specialist in Oncology at the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Human Oncology, University of Bari Medical School, Italy. Now she is working at a Department of Medical Oncology, Istituto Scientifico Romagnolo per lo Studio e la Cura dei Tumori (I.R.S.T.) – IRCCS. She is attending a Ph.D. in clinical and experimental oncology at the University of Foggia, Italy.

Zhanjun Lv received his Master degree in Immunology from Hebei Medical University in 1982. In 1996, Zhanjun Lv became the Research Director, a Professor and a Supervisor of PhD student at the Hebei Key Lab of Laboratory Animal in Hebei Medical University. 
He has received many awards and titles including the third prize of Hebei Province Science and Technology Progress and the second prize of the Laboratory Animal Society of China. 
In 2003, he proposed a new ageing theory-RNA population model that was updated and then was published in Ageing Research Reviews in 2014. He is studying the molecular mechanisms of ageing, differentiation and tumorigenesis from the points of interactions of non-coding RNAs and DNA and is developing gene therapy drugs for the treatment of aged diseases.

Dr. Felipe Fregni is the Director for the Laboratory of Neuromodulation at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and an Associate Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Neurology at the Harvard Medical School. His current projects are focused on mobility impairments and chronic pain. The focus of his research has largely been centered upon developing methods of non-invasive brain stimulation such as repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) to understand neuroplasticity and mechanisms of disease. Many of his studies focus on these methodologies as potential treatment tools for certain neurological and psychiatric disorders. He is also interested in investigating the mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of neuromodulatory tools in neuropsychiatric disorders using quantitative EEG, transcranial magnetic stimulation and neuroimaging. Finally, Dr. Fregni has a large CME course on methodology in clinical research and is also interested in developing new methodological approaches for medical device trials.

Dr. Gang Zhang got his Ph. D. from Shandong Normal University and Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, majoring on the study of mouse pronuclear exchange and nuclear transfer in 2005. Then, he worked as a Postdoc Fellow at the Department of Cell and Systems Biology (2005-2007), and then moved to the Centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases as a Research Technician II (2008-2012), University of Toronto, Canada. During this period, his research mainly focused on Parkinson disease, which included the differentiation of neural stem cells into dopamine neurons, and the molecular mechanism of Parkinson disease. Particularly, he developed a new method, designated as �Combinatorial Strategy� to clone different plasmid vectors with various clone sites, and also optimized the protocols of lentiviral transduction to establish stable transgene cell lines efficiently. Now, he is a Research Associate at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Harvard University.

After obtaining her PhD degree she has continued her research in the areaof Clinical PsychologyandHealthPsychology, specially focused on the study of mental models of the disease, like illness beliefs about cancer in patients with this disease and compared with non-patients; in researching how life events and emotional trauma can produce stress and this may contribute or predispose a person to Parkinson's disease; to identifying correlates of happiness in elders and make cluster profiles of functioning; to study perceived athletic competence and passion in Spanish disabled athletes; or to research risk and health behaviors related with body satisfaction and body image in healthy young people.

She was a professor from the University of Granada,and currently she is professor in the Department of Psychology of the �Centro Universitario de Magisterio SAFA�from the University ofJa�n (Spain).

Dr Wells received his PhD from King�s College London in 2004, working on the development of novel Dendritic cell-based vaccines for cancer therapy. He then under took a postdoctoral position at the MRC & Asthma UK Centre in Allergic Mechanisms of Asthma in London, UK, where he studied vaccine-induced modulation of allergic airway inflammation. He then continued his research as an Instructor in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Center for Advanced Orthopaedic Studies, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, USA (2007-2011), where he studied the discovery of tumour-rejection antigens for Ewing�s Sarcoma Family of Tumours. Dr Wells joined The University of Queensland Diamantina Institute as a Group Leader in 2011 to conduct translational research into the immunopathology of Non-Melanoma Skin Cancers in the skin with the long-term aim to develop novel therapeutic treatment options for these diseases. He is particularly interested in investigating the role of the immune system in the recognition and control of Squamous Cell Carcinoma in the skin.

3) Paralelly our laboratory team is conducting viral protein expression in E.coli cells and expression analysis by SDS page as well as fluorescent microscopy and primary cell cultures. The study are focused on viral pathogens of geese and ducks ex. goose parvovirus, Muscovy duck parvovirus, goose circovirus.

4) As the reference laboratory we are developing a number of new diagnostic techniques ex. PCR, real-time PCR, loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) for diagnosis of avian pathogens.

5) I am also interested in pathogenesis of herpesvirus infection in free-ranging birds, rock pigeons etc.

I completed my undergraduate training in Biology at University of Puerto Rico- Mayaguez where I received a MARC-U-STAR award from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS). I completed a Ph.D. in the Pharmacology Department at Vanderbilt University where my research focused in hereditary ion channel disorders, molecular biology and electrophysiology, under the mentorship of Dr. Alfred L. George in the Division of Genetic Medicine. This was followed by post-doctoral research at University of Puerto Rico in the area of HIV associated neurocognitive disorder under the mentorship of Dr. Jose A. Lasalde-Dominicci and I was recipient of the Haxhiu-N.E.U.R.O.N (New, Exciting, Unique Research on Neuroscience) award from SNRP, NINDS. I also completed an M.D. at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine followed by residency training in Anatomic Pathology at the National Institutes of Health, NCI, where I was Co-Chief Resident.

We are interested in studying epigenetic regulations of metabolic syndrome which includes type 2 diabetes, obesity, CVD and which is the new epidemic affecting the world today with no exception. We have successfully used animal model systems (Cynamolgus macaque, rats), human extra embryonic tissues (unbiblical cord) and muscle satellite cell culture as model systems to probe this new epidemic on a genomic level.

Elzbieta Olejarczyk obtained her M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Warsaw, and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Nalecz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where she is working currently as a senior researcher in the field of biomedical signal processing, analysis and modeling. She is interested in investigating the effects of volatile anesthetics on brain activity. She developed two patented methods: (1) method of monitoring of the depth of anaesthesia based on Higuchi�s fractal dimension; and (2) method of automatic detection and analysis of the EEG sharp wave-slow wave patterns evoked by fluorinated inhalation anesthetics, in collaboration with Silesian University of Medicine in Poland and with Tampere University of Technology and Tampere Hospital in Finland. She was involved in some international projects. Her programs were implemented in Tecnologias de Microelectr�nica SA platform in frame of Advanced Sensor Development for Attention, Stress, Vigilance and Sleep/Wakefulness Monitoring (SENSATION project) in the Sixth Framework Programme EU. The method of spatiotemporal analysis of the leading frequencies and their energy in EEG signals with epileptic discharges was implemented in the Department of Neurology and Epileptology CMKP, Warsaw in Poland. Actually, she is involved in some research projects focused on estimation of functional brain connectivity with the high-resolution EEG using linear and nonlinear dynamics methods, in collaboration with University of Rome "La Sapienza " and with Institute for Advanced Biomedical Technologies of University of Chieti in Italy, and with the Department of Physics of Warsaw University. She is collaborating also with Bordeaux University in the field of modeling the rhythmic patterns generated by Central Pattern Generator networks.

During the period of PhD study I have focused my research in the field of Yersinia enterocolitica, pathogen with a global distribution - common to both humans and animals. The bacteria is frequently harbored by healthy swine and these animals have been identified as a major reservoir of the human pathogenic strains, causing acute gastroenteritis, enterocolitis and mesenteric adenitis. After completing PhD study, I have continued my research in the field of enterotoxic bacteria and zoonotic diseases. My current projects are focused on Yersinia enterocolitica in a public health aspect, included wildlife examination as a potential source of infection for humans. I am especially interested in investigating the mechanisms underlying the enterotoxins production, identifiable using molecular biology. Finally, I am also interested in developing new methodological approaches for fast and precise diagnostics. I am an reviewer for international journal Acta Pathologica, Microbiologica et Immunologica Scandinavica.

Dr. Agnieszka Anna Kaczor (born 1976) is a medicinal chemist specialized in computer-assisted drug design, in particular for diseases of central nervous system. She obtained her master degree in physical and theoretical chemistry at the Maria Curie Sklodowska University (2000) and PhD in pharmaceutical sciences at the Medical University of Lublin (2008), both in Lublin, Poland. In 2009-2011, thanks to the Kolumb fellowship from the Foundation for Polish Science she did her postdoctoral training at the Research Unit for Biomedical Informatics (GRIB) in Barcelona, Spain where she dealt with multi-target approach to the treatment of schizophrenia. In 2011-2012 she continued this project at the University of Regensburg, Germany, holding DAAD fellowship. At present she holds a postdoctoral position (Marie Curie fellowship) at the University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio, Finland where she works on molecular modeling for the cannabinoid system. DrKaczor is a co-author of over 20 scientific articles, 10 book chapters, 2 patents and about 100 conference presentations. She has obtained several research and teaching awards, including those by the Polish Minister of Health and multiple travel grants, including Young Investigator Award by IUPAC (twice) and by European Science Foundation (twice).

The aim is to understand their underlying mechanisms (from bottom-up and/or top-down), and prevent or cure the diseases, and so gain a better longevity and health-span. Ideally, we could live longer, younger, happier, and healthier. Further, he conceived the chromatin remodeling system (CRS) cancer attractors theory of carcinogenesis, initiated the description of Dams and lakes attractors landscape; he enjoys to work at bench or combination of wet-lab and data mining& bioinformatics. He is currently exploring to reverse some complex diseases via epigenetic and chemical cellular reprogramming by using C.elegans, mouse, dog model systems, and human patient specimens. He has already authored and co-authored more than 30 publications in internationally reputable journals, including Nature, PLOS genetics, PLOS one, Cellular Molecular and Life sciences, the American Journal of Pathology, Arthritis & Rheumatism, Developmental biology, BMC developmental biology, Gene regulation and Systems biology, Cancer informatics, J. of Solid tumour, etc. he had 3 book chapters, in charge of several special issues in HGEC & AGE different journals, and do services at more than 10 journals including as founding editor of current synthetic and systems biology(CSSB), HGEC executive editor, editor and /or reviewer.

Margaret F. Fay, PhD, RN, CCRC is Clinical Director Monitoring, Medtronic. Joining Medtronic, Peggy has been a staunch advocate of innovation. In the late 1980’s, Peggy pioneered research into latex allergy, serving with a core team of physicians and scientists who sequenced the antigen leading to sensitization. Working on an FDA taskforce, she assisted in developing guidelines for latex safety. The author of “Your Right to Know”, Peggy created the OSHA directive for blood borne pathogen exposure, paving the way for improved worker protection in the clinical setting. For 28 years, she served as Director of Nursing over critical inpatient units, and for 26 years, has served as Director of Research, providing both domestic and international monitoring, auditing and project management services.

A graduate of Creighton University, St Catherine’s School of Nursing; Peggy holds a BA in Business and MA in Psychology from Columbia Pacific University, and a PhD in Psychology. Anwarul Hasan, PhD, PEng, is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. He is also a visiting Assistant Professor at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology at the Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, USA. Prior to joining his current positions, Dr Hasan was a National Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Research Fellow at the Harvard Medical School and MIT during 2012-2013. Dr Hasan obtained his PhD from University of Alberta, Canada in 2010 and worked in Alberta Innovates Technology Futures in Edmonton, Canada, and Champion Technologies LTD in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, during 2010-2011. Dr Hasan is a rising star in the field of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering. He has more than 45 peer reviewed papers including about 30 journal articles and 15 conference proceeding papers. His published research work in the past has been widely highlighted in international media including Global TV, City TV, and CBC Canada among many. Dr Hasan is a winner of more than sixteen national and international awards. He has also served as a Senate member, and a member of numerous University committees including Chancellor Search Committee, Dean of Students Search Committee, VP External search Committee, and Chair of Mechanical Engineering Search committees at University of Alberta, Canada.

Beata Kaleta (born in 1984) is working as an assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Immunology, Transplantation Institute, Medical University of Warsaw.
She obtained her Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences at the Medical University of Warsaw in 2013. During her PhD she investigated the role of vitamin D receptor gene polymorphisms in systemic lupus erythematosus, osteoporosis and morbid obesity. Her research involves the study of candidate genes and drugs that can be associated with autoimmune disorders. Her current project focus on the influence of selective phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors on human immune system. She is the co-author of scientific publications printed in international journals and conference presentations.

She is a Ministry of Health employee, working as a paediatrician currently at Zeynep Kamil Maternity and Childrens Diseases Training and Research Hospital, Istanbul, Turkey. She works with a broad range of patients and particularly focus on working with the infectious, neurologic and neonatal diseases. The hospital is a nationally recognized public hospital for its treatment of all childhood morbidities and for being a tertiary referral center. Chitho Feliciano is a Senior Science Research Specialist and Deputy Laboratory Manager of the Biomedical Research Section of the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute. He is the current Editor-in-Chief of the Philippine Nuclear Journal (PNJ) and serves as a reviewer of the international journal of Food Microbiology publish by Elsevier Inc. In 2007 and 2011, he received two fellowships in the field of nuclear science and technology awarded by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Vienna, Austria. He is the first Filipino to become a member of the Radiation Research Society (RRS), an international organization of radiation biologists and the publisher of the international journal of Radiation Research. His research interests include radiation biology, food microbiology and drug delivery systems. At present, his research studies focus in the use of nanoparticles as a drug carrier. He studies the pharmacokinetics, toxicity, and protective effects of nanoparticle-encapsulated drugs against the harmful effects of ionizing radiation.
